About Santa Claus

The legend of Santa Claus can be traced back hundreds of years to a man named Nicholas who was born in Turkey around 280 A.D. Those who knew him report that he was a very kind man who gave away all of his inherited wealth and traveled the countryside helping the poor and sick.

For his kindness and compassion he was declared to be a saint and became known as Saint Nicholas. Over the centuries, St. Nicholas has been known by many different names including Saint Nick, Father Christmas, Sinterklaas, Kris Kringle, or simply, Santa. Mrs. Claus sometimes refers to him as her “Jolly Old Elf”.

As a Santa Claus Portrayal Artist, it is my intention to honor the joy-filled spirit of Santa Claus by inspiring all my young friends and their families to practise and encourage Kindness, Compassion and Gratitude toward others and themselves.
